Chaat masala, also spelled chat masala, is a spice powder mix or masala, originating from the Indian subcontinent, used in the cuisines of the Indian subcontinent, primarily in Indian, Bangladeshi and Pakistani cuisine. It gets its distinctive flavour from the black salt used to make it. Though often used as a spice in cooking, chaat masala is mostly used as a garnish on salads, chaats (a generic name for savoury Indian snacks), drinks like Indian lemonade, meals like curries and daals, etc.
This spicy chat Masala is a blend of a variety of spices. Just sprinkle it on dahi wada, raita, panipuri, aloo chat, bhel puri, dahi puri, salads, fruits, chutneys, boiled vegetables, egg preparations, and a variety of other dishes for that lip smacking chatpatta taste.
Chat Masala is made using black salt, pomegranate seeds, cumin, mint, mace, citric acid, ginger, chillies, asafoetida & salt.
